UNISEM Co., Ltd. was selected as the participating company for the AI convergence national safety security and rapid response support project hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA).
The main goal of this project is to develop a platform to track lost children and missing persons by applying artificial intelligence technology to CCTV run by Suseong-gu (Daegu) local government.
It is expected that such technology and data exchange between public and private sector would make the emergency response capability of local governments more efficient.

An artificial intelligence that uses video learning data provided by Suseong-gu Demonstration Lab built by Daegu Suseong-gu Office, Kyungpook National University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, and three other Daegu regional companies to search for images and track movement paths based on photos, impressions, and characteristics of specific subjects. The program will be developed and will be actively used in the police's searching of the missing people and initial investigation.
The platform which will be developed through this project aims to enable the police to directly input the target's information to a system to actively search for him/her.
By demonstrating the commercialization level of AI-based object recognition/ identification/ tracking technology trained by using multiple CCTV images from the field, UNISEM Co., Ltd. has advanced the technology to contribute to public safety and supply it to local government.
UNISEM Co., Ltd. has secured references in Korea, Vietnam, and Indonesia, focusing on AI-based ITS (Intelligent Transportation System), smart safety, and IoT platforms, and plans to apply the results of this project in the future as well. By discovering the services required by other municipalities it is planned to prepare the technological foundation that can be utilized in another region in cooperation with demanding organizations.
